Hello and welcome to my brand new blog! 🥳Woohoo, I’m joining the masses and creating my own little corner of the internet. Thank you for checking it out!
Before I get into The Simple Take I would like to introduce myself. My name is Sarah Erickson. 👋 I am 29, a wife to Marcel, mother to 3 beautiful young kids, Annabelle (3yrs), Hezekiah (3yrs), and Eli (2yrs), and follower of Jesus! I will talk more about me in a different post later. 😉
The Simple Take is a name came up by my husband Marcel (see cute photo below ⬇️). A few years ago Marcel and I were on a drive talking and dreaming. Marcel is a very thoughtful, intelligent, well thought out guy. While I on the other hand have a simpler way about me at times. He asked me some big question and I would just answer simply. He said “maybe you should have a podcast and call it the simple take with Sarah Erickson. You can make big complex things simple.”
One of my favorite examples is we were on a different drive and Marcel was talking about stocks and trading then he pauses to ask what I’m thinking about. Well my answer was “bread. I’m thinking about if I lived when Jesus did I would have ate a lot of bread.” We laughed and it still feels like a little picture of us.
While this isn’t a podcast I wanted to still use the name because I love it and it fits!
My hopes for this blog is a place to express myself, share my story, post photos, share recipes and to glorify God.
My life has been nothing short of excitement, celebration, hardship, trial and error, and lots of joy. I will be turning 30 on July 28th 2025 and so why not start a new season of sharing.
I don’t have social media any longer and it’s been a choice I have realized is best for my family and I to stay off of. Yet I miss the piece of sharing our life with others. We are very active in our family, church, and friends but sometimes it’s difficult to stay connected and well we have a lot going on that I would love to share so here I am!
I don’t have expectations that this will blow up or that it will be perfect. In fact I love it that way! I want this to be authentic, honest, vulnerable, and fun! Just like me 😂
